Uncle Sam on stilts stands nine feet tall.  He wears the traditional red, white and blue costume associated with the American flag and the historical Uncle Sam.

Uncle Sam can entertain at parades, picnics, grand openings, fun raisers and any other venue where a highly visible performer is needed.

But this Uncle Sam can add an additional unique dimension to his performance at a school, library or Boy Scout meeting.  He can speak to the history of Uncle Sam based on Richard’s extensive research.  He can talk about Samuel Wilson and how this man gave the name to Uncle Sam.  He can tell how Thomas Nast and his political cartoons affected the costume of Uncle Sam.  Then Uncle Sam can give a presentation of the American flag and the Star Spangled Banner.

Did you know that the flag that inspired Francis Scott Key to write the poem that would eventually become our national anthem had fifteen stripes and fifteen stars?  Did you know that Francis Scott Key used an English pub song as the tune for his poem?  This and more will be revealed during Uncle Sam’s historical presentation.
